From the last week of August, components from seven different manufacturers will be combined in our assembly workshop in Stockerau. They will be used to create drives that our partner Rofitec will use to give a theater in Germany a new lease of life. Due to the large volume, partial deliveries will be made until the first quarter of 2025 and delivered from our warehouse just-in-time for assembly on the construction site.
MOLL-MOTOR’s contribution to the success of the project consists of selecting, dimensioning, procuring and pre-assembling the appropriate drive components as well as engineering the special adapter plates and special shafts. We had the special motors with aluminum housings produced by a manufacturer in Italy and the motors with grey cast iron housings produced by a manufacturer in Turkey according to our specifications. The double brakes were ordered from a German premium manufacturer and the adapter plates were commissioned from a turned parts supplier. The project also includes gearboxes from three different manufacturers.
Our workshop employees ensure professional assembly and quality control, whereby the used theater brakes are so quiet that you could almost believe they would not trigger. In fact, of course, they work perfectly!
The first delivery of drives is now being used for orchestra podiums, double-decker podiums and inclined stages. The entire stage can be set at an angle to simulate a mountain, for example. In further steps, we will supply additional drives for the lower stages and for the upper stage (e.g. for lighting hoists, point hoists, etc.).
We look forward to demonstrating our skills again. We already have the next similar order in prospect and expect to contribute to numerous other theater renovations in the coming years. We wish our long-standing partner Rofitec that the installation goes as planned and the end customer that the modernized technology contributes to many unique concert and theater evenings.
