Insights into working life – electrical engineering students visited us

Last week, we welcomed a group of students from the HTL Hollabrunn, specializing in electrical engineering, to MOLL-MOTOR in Stockerau. In addition to exciting projects from the world of mechatronic drive technology, the young people got an impression of how we work: with a lot of personal responsibility, room for their own ideas and short decision-making processes.

These values have shaped the way we work for decades. Many of our colleagues started their first career here, whether through a traditional apprenticeship at the age of 15, after graduating from a technical school or by making a fresh start in later years – for example after a WIFI course. At MOLL-MOTOR, the previous CV often plays a smaller role than the motivation to learn new things and contribute one’s own strengths.

In conversation with the electrical engineering students, our Managing Director Gernot Schandl explained the idea behind this: Employees are given responsibility from day one so that they can contribute their ideas and develop their potential – be it in sales, technical planning, marketing, assembly or repair service. This creates careers that lead from apprentice to division manager and fields of work in which individual talents and even private hobbies such as 3D printing or “car tinkering” can be used in a targeted manner.

Our goal is always a long-term collaboration in which you can also find the right position in new phases of your life. The fact that we are taking this approach is due not least to our history as a family business that has grown over the years, where personal interaction and short decision-making paths are a way of life.

Precisely because skilled workers are becoming scarce, we are increasingly focusing on contact with schools and training centers. We send vacancies directly to the graduate mailing lists of partner schools whose students have agreed to be contacted. In discussions with young people, we attach great importance to conveying a realistic picture of work and development prospects, and realistic decision-making situations are asked about in job interviews.

Whether it’s HTL drop-outs who are starting an apprenticeship, graduates straight out of high school, people with many years of professional experience or those who are developing new career paths through adult education – at MOLL-MOTOR, what counts is what you want to create together with us. In this way, we not only ensure our growth, but also the good cooperation that has characterized us for over 75 years.

We would like to thank the HTL Hollabrunn and Dipl.-Päd. Ing. Christian Kattinger for taking the initiative to organize this visit. We hope that the students involved gained valuable insights into working life and look forward to meeting them again in future application processes.
