MOLL-MOTOR proudly describes itself as a committed partner of SIEMENS, the giant of the electrical industry, and of INNOMOTICS, the SIEMENS subsidiary in which the concentrated expertise for electric motors and geared motors has been bundled. Our warehouse stocks a wide range of INNOMOTICS motors, and we still have some stock available under the SIEMENS brand. This means that discontinued SIEMENS motors can be replaced cost-effectively with an identical product. Current stock levels, including model numbers, can be viewed at https://innomotics.mollmotor.at.

INNOMOTICS was spun off from the Siemens Group in October 2024. Under its new owner, the company continues the tradition established by Werner von Siemens. This technological pioneer invented the ‘dynamo’, the induction principle of which forms the basis for all modern asynchronous motors. This technology continues to dominate the vast majority of industrial applications to this day. Inventions by Werner von Siemens, and later by employees of his group, paved the way for electrification in Central Europe. The comprehensive history of the SIEMENS Group, which dates back to 1847, bears witness to the diverse development and adaptation of its business areas, ranging from large domestic appliances and telephones to trains, traffic light systems and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. In recent years, INNOMOTICS has set the long-established electric motors division on the path to independence.
Historically, the production of electric motors for industry and commerce was a significant line of business for SIEMENS. As a global group, SIEMENS developed its core competencies in the areas of design, production and documentation. In order to focus on these strengths and optimise the organisational structure, a philosophy of collaborating with partner companies was established in the late 1990s. This made it possible to offer customers improved and more flexible services.

MOLL-MOTOR was quickly chosen as our partner in the field of electric motors. This decision was based on our extensive experience both in supplying new customers and in carrying out repairs. In particular, our flexibility and willingness to stock SIEMENS products won over our business partners right from the start. In 1999, the first official contract between our companies was signed. The partnership was taken to a new level in 2007 through the ‘Siemens Solution Partner Automation’ contract, and MOLL-MOTOR became the first SIMOLOG partner worldwide to have contracts covering all product and service areas. Since then, the cooperation has been intensified at regular intervals. Most recently, we were also entrusted with the distribution of SIEMENS low-voltage motors in Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Since the transfer of the motor business to INNOMOTICS, we have continued our partnership with both companies. Our partnership covers key aspects of business areas that have been spun off to INNOMOTICS, as well as those that have remained within the Group.
MOLL-MOTOR’s sales activities do not focus on individual products, but rather on offering our customers solutions to drive system problems. We are happy to rely on SIEMENS and INNOMOTICS components, whilst also having the freedom and flexibility to incorporate other manufacturers. Where the situation requires it, we flexibly combine products from different manufacturers. In this way, we have been able to secure major projects and help all partners involved achieve the optimal solution – projects in which SIEMENS alone, limited to its own in-house products, would have been less competitive. An outstanding example of this is a major project for a ship loader in the Baltic region. By skilfully combining SIEMENS motors and gearboxes (now part of the INNOMOTICS portfolio) with an enclosed electromagnetic brake from an Italian manufacturer, we were able to meet the specific environmental conditions on site whilst offering excellent value for money.
Despite interesting international partnerships, our main focus in our collaboration with SIEMENS and INNOMOTICS remains firmly on the Austrian market. Here, we supply mechanical engineering customers, large-scale operations with high maintenance requirements and maintenance engineers with motors and gearboxes from INNOMOTICS. Regionally based electrical machinery manufacturers also like to make use of our stock and can check at https://innomotics.mollmotor.at to see whether the required motor is available for immediate delivery.

Furthermore, MOLL-MOTOR supplies mechanical engineering companies with control cabinets – manufactured in-house. We install numerous electronic components from SIEMENS, including their frequency inverters, in these cabinets. The mechanical engineering sector in Austria thus benefits from our products, which are available daily from our warehouse in Stockerau. At our site in Lower Austria, north of Vienna, we also have a test bench for SIEMENS servo motors ready for use. Here, we can service and repair servo motors within a few hours and have access to the relevant software, files and spare parts.
Our long-standing and successful collaboration with SIEMENS has forged strong business ties and, beyond that, lasting friendships between our companies and the staff on both sides. A large part of these relationships will continue with the spin-off into INNOMOTICS. For this reason, we look forward with optimism to a continued, long-term partnership with both companies.
